I must stayed in many Hilton’s over the years including the famous one in Amsterdam and on this occasion the Hilton The Hague has to be one of my choice Hilton hotels to date. The number one reason was the canal location right on the Mauritskade. It is also situated close to Noordeinde my choice posh shopping street of the Hague and also the location of one of the Royal Places. The Hilton The Hague is also within move distance to the embassy quarter and Peace Palace, and just steps from the Dutch Parliament and Mauritshuis.

Hilton Cleanstay
Hilton introduced ‘Hilton Cleanstay’ last year. This is a new form of hygiene and disinfection within its hotels. It is a pledge to provide the same level of reliable and friendly service that Hilton guests can expect, but with the extra aplomb of leading hygiene practices.
Reception
The Hilton The Hague building used to be a former old Dutch Post head function and the overall interior design is fabulous. The reception has lots of colours, natural lighting and space. What struck me were the heavy-set square chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The staff at the reception desk were very accommodating and friendly.
This caravanserai has lots of natural light due to the glass ceilings.
King Executive Room with Lounge Access
I stayed in cubicle quarters 529, which offered wonderful city views of The Hague and the canal. Thanks to terrace access I could handle and experience how Dutch people go about their daily lives. The shopping street of Nooreinde is straight ahead with profusion of boutiques to experience. The Hague has fabulous small boutiques and restaurants to explore.
My balcony allowed me to soak up the take ins and take in this marvellous city lifestyle.
The weather was not in my favour most of the time, but I could still enjoy the sight from a very large and comfortable chair inside the room. There is no better way than waking up and seeing this in the morning.
The decor of the dwell was very red, which is my favourite colour, with the bedhead and same wall parts in bright red. The flowery chair complemented the comprehensive colour scheme. The Kingsize bed was super comfortable and the pillows were large and very fluffy. Overall there was a kindly and relaxed vibe in this room.
The room had a dedicated working desk with a super comfortable red leather retro chair. It was a agreeable workspace to catch up on some work. The space is well thought out and the abundance of natural light is very welcoming. The mini bar split offered plenty of coffee and tea whenever I needed it. With views like this, it was lovely to experience.
Bathroom
The bathroom is massive in space with plenty of light. The towels are huge and fluffy and the bathroom amenities are from Crabtree and Evelyn one of my favourites. There is a assigned rain shower with a separate bath which was a welcoming treat for some downtime. The mood lighting in the bathroom is not counting.
Executive Lounge
Access to the Executive Lounge was included in my room and is it now located in the Spark bar, which is on the ground floor allowing the canal. Opened at 5 pm there were plenty of small bites and drinks to wine and pre dine. I have to specially reveal the fabulous host Irene, she is brilliant and goes the extra mile for everyone, no matter how busy it gets. A hotel is but as good as the people that serve you with a warm heart.

Breakfast
Breakfast was served in restaurant Pearl named after Vermeer’s lionized painting Girl with a Pearl Earring, which you can see at the Mauritshuis in The Hague. The breakfast buffet was excellent with numbers of options. There are two rooms serving breakfast which is excellent to adhere to the Covid-19 social distancing space. One was in the Prize restaurant with the other, the room opposite.
I loved sitting here and looking at a replica of Vermeer’s Stuff with a Pearl Earring.
When checking in the staff asks you for a time slot. So there is plenty of every so often, space and food to enjoy breakfast.
I like to experience juices that I don’t have at home. And not common at all in inns here in Europe is fresh beetroot juice. Did you know beetroot juice helps you sleep? There were prodigality of other healthy juices to choose from. Some of the eating options included nuts, fruits, endless amounts of cereals and buns. There was a dedicated menu for eggs. Having breakfast here whilst overlooking the canal was a real treat.
Conclusion
The turning up and setting of the Hilton The Hague is what makes this hotel special. The hotel is super central to all main performances in The Hague. The canal and city views can be enjoyed outside as well as inside which is perfect on rainy and windy days. I got to see how locals go on with their commonplace lives in a lovely relaxing way. The ode to Vermeer’s most famous painting creates a cultural connection.
