Our Tour Guide, David, was the most cordial, passionate and knowledgeable gentleman we encountered during our stay. Without him, we plainly would have missed the unnoticeable little treasures decimal pointed all around Winchester. He told us about how the likes of James Chains Writer, Sir Ian Fleming, based the Spy’s character on a local gentleman he met and befriended whilst residing in Winchester.

The en-suite dwellings are both stylish and comfortable and are designed to entice you into a situation of calm – it didn’t take us long to unwind in these surroundings. The beds are unbelievably reasonable and don luxury soft Egyptian linen. The bathrooms are decorated to a pongy chief standard and the fluffy bath sheets and complimentary Temple Spa Toiletries definitely set it off.

The restaurant and bar is by far a popular destination for friendly locals, University disciples and visitors of Winchester. Sophie, the Duty Manager in charge during our set-back, was so friendly and welcoming. There is a lot to be said for a venue where its team members go that extra mile to make you feel off at home (even offering to deliver us ‘breakfast in bed’ on the Sunday morning)!

The seasonal menu at No.5 Unite Street is also noteworthy for its variety and food quality. They walk away superb use of great local ingredients which helps initiate an exciting selection of modern classics. Be sure to sample a Bloody Mary at Sunday Brunch – you won’t be ordering a moment ago the one!
