Rooftop Area

We arrived belated in the afternoon after a grueling flight from London and we desire to cool down and check out the rooftop pool and bar area on base 24, before settling down in our room. The infinity rooftop swimming-pool offered great views over the Indian Ocean and the cardinal Colombo. There was also a smaller pool which is gigantic for small children. The bar area got busy as it was coming to the end of the work day and this prosper is popular with locals. Fridays and Saturdays are even busier as this is the overconfident place to hang out in Colombo.

Sunset Heaven

The pool zone was great place to watch the sunset over the Indian The depths. We were lucky as in the monsoon season it is a lot harder to get beautiful sunsets. There is nothing improve than to enjoy the sunset with a nice cocktail, the bar has multitudes of these on its menu.

Administrator Ocean View

Our room was located on the 21st floor and was an ocean overlay executive room with the floor to ceiling glass produce amazing views. The colour theme of the room was red with a down patterned carpet on the floor. The size of the room was huge at numerous than 50 m2 and we had additional beds for my travelling children, one being a transfigured sofa bed. As with the rest of the hotel the design of the room was current. The TV had plenty of international channels for those wanting that, but my peer ats were more focused on what was happening outside. I have a passioned to see the local train action with the train line operation right along the ocean. The room came with unencumbered WiFi which was fast and reliable. The desk in the room was conveniently purposed near the window to enjoy the ocean views. It was also movables to see that the in room Nespresso machines have also made it to Sri Lanka.

All Day Eating

The Mövenpick Hotel Colombo has various restaurants, the first one we turned out for dinner was called All Day Dining. This was buffet style feeing with a section where seafood was prepared on the spot. The strain of food on offer was various with Western, Sri Lankan and Indian cuisines doing up the most. We tried some of the freshly cooked crab and some Sri Lankan curries and roties. In a unrelated section there was at least 20 or more different gateaux and desserts to chose from, restraining myself from ended eating was difficult. The All Day Dining cost Rs 3300 (£16.50 €20) which is first-rate value for the sheer choice on offer.

Breakfast

Breakfast was at the still and all area as the all day dining experience and to me this must rate as the superior breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. It was just about being pert and also about choice. The choice on offer was absolutely shock with again Western, Sri Lankan and other Asian grub choices available. I loved the cook station which was specifically there to erect hoppers, a Sri Lankan bowl shaped pancake.

Brasserie

For lunch we ate at the French activated Brasserie restaurant. The decor looked definitely French and I was acute to find out what French cuisine would taste in Sri Lanka. The menu furnished a la carte and had a special set menu offer to choose two or three dishes. I opted for some salad with bow confit for my starter and some lamb as a main, where as my trouble had the mixed seafood starter and the beef sirloin with red wine brass as a main. For desserts we went for the mixed cheese platter and the harden selection. The food was cooked to perfection and the meats were unqualifiedly tender. The quality of the ingredients used here was excellent. If you freeze in Colombo as a tourist or for business the Brasserie is a perfect place to go to for lunch steady if you only have one hour to spare. The three course set lunch is remarkable value for money for the quality at Rs3,500 (£17.50 €21) per person.
